Subject: 15-meter-long blancher for vegetable processing
Request: Authentic looking model of around 70cm length. Include motors and pipe for pressure nozzles, railing and platform + company logo. To be displayed at a large trade show in Germany
Challenge: Numerous pipes and long, thin beams which are important to the overall look of the machine. Predominantly made from sheet metal plates which need adjusting.
Solution: Resulting 1:21 model made from a combo of SLS and FDM printed material to capture details without compromising on strength and look/feel.
Duration: From approved design to delivery was 5 weeks
Subject: Complete flow-sheet of a nail production
Request: To be able to better explain to potential customers the modular flexibility of their flow-sheet, ENKOTEC wanted a 3D model of each of their focus products which could be fitted on a conference room table.
Challenge: Fine details needed to be translated to a 1:8 model. All doors to be hinged, some doors with glass, all inner mechanism to be recognizable, one machine to have motor + working gears.
Solution: FDM printed series of models, true to company branding guidelines. Functionality achieved using embedded acrylic plates, magnets, DC motors and miniature bearings.
Duration: 10 weeks from request to delivery
Subject: Cone- and jaw crushers
Request: In conjunction with launching of new brand, FULLER asked for models of newly released machines to for travelling sales personnel to use as prop during client meetings.
Challenge: Making models robust enough to withstand frequent handling.
Solution: Using real bolts for the main bolted connections, thus adding both realistic feel of models and strength.
Duration: 5weeks from request to delivery.
Subject: Segment of a railway for seamlessly connecting bridges with mainland
Request: For InnoTrans 2022, the largest trade show for the rail industry, voestalpine wanted to showcase their products by using a scale model.
Challenge: Long model with thin and fragile components. Transport issues. High detail level on rail clamps.
Solution: 120 cm long model. Used FDM belt printer to print rails in single seamless segment. Whole model suspended on 4 cm transparent blocks. Devised a lifting bar to lift out of transport box.
Duration: 6 weeks from approved design to delivery
